What is Brake Fluid Manufacturing Plant?

A brake fluid plant is a dedicated facility for the production of brake fluid. These fluids are used across various vehicles, including cars, trucks, motorcycles, and industrial machinery. Brake fluid is critical as it transmits the force from the brake pedal to the braking mechanism, usually through hydraulic pressure, ensuring safe and effective braking performance. The necessary equipment includes mixing and blending reactors, precision dosing systems, vacuum dehydration units, laboratories for quality, stainless steel storage or FRP tanks, filtration systems, and automated filling and packaging machines. The systems come with PLC/SCADA Control Panels for automated control and monitoring.

Brake Fluid Oil Composition

The primary ingredients of brake fluid are glycol ethers, which are responsible for transmitting hydraulic pressure, along with various additives including borate esters, corrosion inhibitors, antioxidants, and stabilizers.
Brake fluids consist of three key components:
SOLVENT 60 to 90% (polyglycol ethers, or mineral oils)
LUBRICANT BASIS 5 to 30%
ADDITIVES 2 to 5% (Corrosion, Anti-wear, Antioxidants, Anti-foaming agents, & water retention agents.)

Types of Brake Fluids Oil

Various types of brake fluids are manufactured, primarily classified by their chemical makeup and performance traits.
1. DOT (Department of Transportation) Fluids: Hygroscopic brake fluids (such as DOT 3, DOT 4, and DOT 5.1 are glycol-based types), DOT 5 (silicone-based, non-hygroscopic, and typically used in specialized or military applications.)
2. Mineral Oil-based Fluids: LHM (Liquide Hydraulique Mineral)
3. Synthetic Brake Fluids: Offer higher boiling points and improved moisture resistance
4. Non-Hygroscopic Fluids: These are synthetic brake fluids.
